• It is mandatory to present yourself with proper mountain boots and equipment suitable for the activity. Failure to meet these requirements may result in exclusion from the climb, including by decision of the Mountain House, without the right to a refund

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

• Please refer to the attached Manual Climb.
• Transfer from Tripix Office at Madalena – Mountain House – Tripix Office at Madalena upon request and subject to availability.
• This activity doesn’t include meals – Lunch Box upon request. If requested, confirmed information about the meal type (regular, vegetarian, vegan, or any dietary restrictions) must be provided at least 72 hours before the activity. We cannot guarantee any adjustments with shorter notice, and no refunds will be issued in such cases.
• Children only from 5 years old (upon request). For climbs with children, we recommend a private tour.
• Damaged equipment fee: Hiking poles – €10 each.
• In case you have a drone, you must complete this FORM selecting the option “”[PICO01] Reserva Natural da Montanha do Pico.””
  All participants must be in good physical condition and motor coordination. Please inform Tripix Azores in advance if any participant has physical restrictions, especially in the lower limbs, fear of heights (vertigo), mental health restrictions, heart problems, asthma, diabetes, pregnancy, or other health conditions. Participants should not have been diving 24 hours before the climb. Sedentary individuals and adults over 65 who are not used to physical activities may be required to provide a medical certificate. We recommend physical and mental preparation in advance.

Activity Cancellation: Tripix Azores reserves the right to cancel activities without prior notice due to weather conditions that compromise the safety and well-being of participants or due to force majeure. In such cases, Tripix Azores may suggest a new date or alternative activities during the clients’ stay on the island, subject to availability. The client may opt to receive a credit for the canceled activity, with a voucher issued for future use. If the client chooses a refund, it will be processed with the necessary adjustments and completed as soon as possible, which may take up to 15 working days.

Customer Cancellation Policy:

• Cancellations made up to 30 days in advance: 100% refund of the amount paid;

• Cancellations made less than 30 days in advance: 50% of the total reservation amount will be withheld;

• Cancellations made less than 1 week in advance (up to 4 days): 65% of the total reservation amount will be withheld;

• Cancellations made within 72 hours prior to the start of the activity: 80% of the total reservation amount will be charged;

• Cancellations made within 48 hours prior to the activity, No-Show, or issues with air or sea transport: 100% of the total reservation amount will be charged;

• Cancellations due to force majeure: Our cancellation policy does not cover personal situations such as sudden illness or family emergencies. However, in duly proven cases of force majeure with proper documentation, Tripix Azores offers the client the option of a refund or the issuance of a voucher for the reserved activity, valid for 2 years;

• Rescheduling in case of No-Show: Requires a new booking with full payment;

• Cancellations of mountain activities due to weather conditions: A fee of €8 per reservation will be retained for administrative costs.

Cancellation after reading the informational PDF (Climbs to Mount Pico):

• After the booking confirmation for climbs to Mount Pico, each participant receives a document (PDF) with essential information about the climb, including mandatory equipment, appropriate footwear, safety guidelines, and physical preparation recommendations.
• Reading this document is the responsibility of the participant.
• If the client chooses to cancel the booking after reading the PDF, the general cancellation conditions outlined in this policy apply (partial or total retention of the paid amount, depending on the notice period), and no full refund will be issued, since all necessary information was already available on the website and in the document provided.
