Born in Angola to an Italian mother and a Portuguese father, Matteo embodies a rich cultural blend. After spending childhood summers on Pico Island, he made it his home in 2014, eager to share its hidden gems.

Inspired by his grandfather in the Italian Alps, mountains have always been his element. Since June 2015, he has summited Mount Pico over 900 times, refining his expertise. Committed to delivering the best climbing experience, Matteo continually hones his skills. He trained in ice climbing in Südtirol and has rock climbing training and experience.

He has tackled peaks like Toubkal (4,100m) in Morocco and Cayambe (5,800m), Cotopaxi (5,900m), Chimborazo (6,300m) in Ecuador, La Galana (2,572m) and Mulhacén (3,478m), in Spain. Mount Pico remains his training ground for future high-altitude adventures.
